Mostar Airport handled 711 passengers in October 2022, 88.7 percent fewer than in the same month of the year before the pandemic.
In the period from January to October 2022, the airport welcomed a total of 9,995 travelers, down 68.1 percent from three years ago. Mostar Airport has struggled to attract passengers in recent years and has also been hit hard by the coronavirus pandemic. Only 1,374 passengers were handled in Crisis 2020, while in the following year 2021 the numbers are improving with a total of barely 1,942 travelers. Although passenger numbers have increased slightly this year, they are still below those of 2014. At that time, 78,055 passengers were handled. In September, it became known that the low-cost airline Wizz Air would like to fly to the Bosnian airport in Mostar. So far, however, no flights to this airport can be booked. It remains to be seen whether this WILL change, as reported by the online portal Ex-Yu-Aviation.
