In the previous year, Germany’s airports were used by around 155.2 million passengers. In a direct comparison with the value of 2021, you could increase 111 percent. However, it was still 31.5 percent below the volume of 2019.
According to the Federal Statistical Office, domestic German air traffic was only able to recover below average. Compared to 2021, this only contradicts by 98 percent. The statisticians suspect that travelers are increasingly using other modes of transport such as cars, long-distance buses or trains.
International air traffic is expected to increase by 112 percent. Cargo volume was 4.9 million tons, down 6.7 percent from what Mann had in 2021.
